Today was our first attempt at staying at church for all the meetings since Kade was born. We all looked so cute and we were actually able to get a bench seat, which is usually pretty rare. After we had the sacrament Shaylie wanted her snack, which she inhaled, and then of course wanted ours. We told her she'd already had some and then the tantrum began...kicking and screaming Zack carried her out while I sat and heard (along with the rest of the ward) "No Daddy! No Daddy! No Daddy!" If she didn't do that all the time, I'd have felt bad! She kicked so hard one of her shoes fell off, but within a minute of being outside she calmed down and came back in a perfect child. Kade of course slept. Shay went to nursery, with a few tears and a little bribing. She's the biggest kid in there (also the oldest), and the only one that throws a fit every time. I like to think its because she likes being with me so much but...we all know its not the truth. Zack and I took Kade to sunday school with us. I had to leave half way through to feed him and missed the whole second half. It was the first time I'd used the mothers room (since I only nursed shay for a month). It was pretty exciting to me. There was a picture of Christ on the wall and I felt awkward facing it :) My mom laughed when I told her I actually had to turn the chair away. Guess I'm a little weird with some things! During relief society Kade was awake and fussed every time I sat down, so I spent that whole hour standing in the back bouncing him. It was ward conference today (new bishopric) and the stake president was speaking to the women. During his testimony, possibly the quietest time that hour, while everyone was weeping and feeling all spiritual, my Port son decided to fill his diaper...loudly! I was so very embarrassed! Lots of moms looked at me all understanding-like and even more looked around shocked! All I could do was turn red and smile! Quite the church experience.
After church and a nap for Shay, we went over to Lena's house for a get together with the Utah cousins, Uncle Scott and Aunt Debbie, and Great Uncle Merlin and Aunt Sandy. It was very nice to chat with everyone and see Uncle Merlin. I'm told that he and my Papa Johnson were quite a bit alike. He talked to us about my Papa and told us some fun stories. I wish I could have known him better. Everyone talks so highly about him and I feel a little jipped to missed out. All in good time I'm sure! It was great to see and talk with Uncle Scott too. He reminds me of my dad, who I miss all the time, and its nice to have a little since of home. We came home not too long ago, and after feeding the bottomless pit of a boy, and getting my very picky girl in her jamies, they are now in bed. Zack seems to thrive off waiting til the las minute to write his lessons plans, so he's in the living room now working hard.
Speaking of his work, on Friday was the teachers job fair and Zack went fully prepared to find us a job. He interviewed for a job in Wyoming (star valley) that I am really hoping for! They wont get back to us for about a month but my fingers are crossed! He also submitted about 15 resumes in Wyoming, Arizona, Utah, and (get this...) Virginia. Utah pays the least, and Wyoming the most, so thats the one we're hoping for! Just and update on the job front!
Well since I have two sleeping babies I really should be asleep. Lets see if I'm good and actually write tomorrow!
