My Quirky Daughter
This is kind of a funny story. My family, and many others, believe me to be a bit...OCD when it comes to certain things. I've always joked that it just makes me a better person, even though it seems to annoy most people :) Last fall I took a psychology class where I learned about an OCD something or other that is a sign of a mental handicap. That 'something or other' was the need to put things in rows. Lining things up over and over again. Now just to be clear, Shaylie does not have a mental disorder :) She's just a little OCD like someone else...Anyways, I brought this subject up with Zack when we noticed Shaylie doing this...
At first Zack was super worried when it dawned on him that Shaylie does this with cookies before she eats them, stickers on a paper, beads, books, stuffed animals, etc. But I think I finally convinced him that she's just a little quirky :)
New Pictures!
So about a week ago we had our neighbor and friend (Brindy Bennett) take some pictures of Shaylie and Kade for us (mostly Kade since we were inside). They turned out way cute! Cant resist showing off my perfect little babies!

A New week
Church was LONG yesterday. We got there right on time, which is usually just fine and we get a pretty good soft seat on the side of the chapel. However, they were re-doing the gym and had it all closed off so all the people that usually sit way the in the back were up in all the good seats on the side. We had to walk in front of everyone and share a big bench with another family. But really thats not so bad. Shay was funny with her Snacks during sacrament. First off, she's not allowed to have any food until after the sacrament is over, so thats always fun trying to explain to a 2 year old why her treats have to wait...Then she was eating some wafer cookies and turned her back to them. I thought she was done so I closed them ant put them back in the bag. She turned around and saw that they were gone, looked at me and Zack with an opened mouth (Zack had his arm around me), then said, quite upset and serious, "DAD!" and Zack, of course, egged it on by "punking out" and said, "WHAT?!" Shay kept all her seriousness and said,"Cookies closed no-no!" Zack couldn't keep a straight face and we all laughed. She didn't let him get near her "cookies" again. Kade slept through Sacrament meeting. When it was time to clean up to go to sunday school I told shay it was time for nursery. She's had some stress going to nursery so her response was, "get car go home, okay mommy?" I told her the car was gone and since we couldn't find it we had to go to nursery. She thought for a second then said, "Okay, I walk home, okay mommy? Come on." We smiled at that! She threw a tantrum the whole way there but stayed! Half way through sunday School Kade woke up and, very loudly told us all that he was poopy and hungry. By the time I was done feeding him and got back to the room they were saying the closing prayer. Relief society, I was in there maybe ten minutes before I was told that Shay needed me. She had pooped in her pull ups...(I'm so sick of poop!) I had to find Zack so he could take car of Kade while I took care of Shay. I Walked passed all the men in the ward during priesthood because he, of course, didn't notice me trying to get his attention! Took care of Shay, who was very excited this time to go back to nursery, then went to find Zack to get Kade back (I had all his stuff). The men had moved to different rooms and I couldn't find him. So instead of wandering around looking for him, I just gave myself a little break and went back to relief society :) Turns out, Kade was perfect for Zack (of course he was...just how it has to happen!). I was pretty worn out though by the time we got home. I was so happy to sit on a soft couch. Zack had a meeting right after church so I took the kids home, put them down for naps, then took one myself! (YAY for me!) Long day.
Today we went to Zacks school library where they have a neat room to take kids in and you can still work on school stuff. Zack worked on his portfolio (senior project due wednesday) and I found Zack jobs and applied for them! Mayer Arizona is the one I'm excited about at the current moment! Shaylie watched Tangled on the big screen and tried to sleep while other kids played around her. It was an exhausting day, but I feel like we didn't get much done...Justin and Caitlin stopped by this evening and Zack justin and Shaylie went to Home Depot to get moving boxes (just getting ahead of the stress!). Caitlin Kade and I talked. It was nice to vent and get to know her better. She's a sweet heart! We also skyped for a little bit with my family this afternoon. I love seeing them (best part of my day!) only 16 more days until my mom comes! YaY!

Kissing boo-boos
She was also darling yesterday with Zack. He had been called and asked to go help someone give a blessing. He had changed his clothes and tying his tie when Shay came up to him and said, "Oh, look so cute Daddy!" It totally caught Zack off guard! When he asked her what she just said she replied with, "clothes on daddy cute!" I was once again trying not to laugh and told her it was a very nice thing to day. She's a perfect lady, now if only we could get her to use the potty better... :)
Zack finished his last day of classes as an undergraduate yesterday! YAY! While he was in class the kids and I waited in the childrens room of the University library. Zack was very energetic and excited on the way home. It had finally dawned on him that he was done. He has a meeting next week to drop off his portfolio to his professor and has one more day of student teaching then its all over! We're very excited! I spent half the night on the couch last night because I put Kade in his swing to sleep. This morning I woke up at 7:05 surprised I hadn't heard zack leave (he leaves at 7) I looked out the window and both cars were still there, and there wasn't a sound in the house. I figured Zack had slept in (since he had the whole bed to himself) and I called to him to wake him up. I heard a bunch of mumbling/stumbling going on and then "Oh, Crap!" He was up, ready and gone in 5 minutes...wish it were that easy for me! Guess he's just excited about being done he celebrated by sleeping in!

What a week so far!
Its wednesday today, and
On the Job front, I spent most of the day yesterday on the computer looking for jobs for Zack. I found 28 which he will be applying for today when he gets home from Student Teaching (even I give him home work!). I'm still crossing my fingers for that job in Star Valley Wyoming though. It turns out Zacks University supervisor has connections up there so Zack called him yesterday to talk to him about it. Turns out the 'connection' was right there with him! They were doing something so they called Zack back about 10 minutes later. The 'connection' (who I only know as John) talked with Zack for a bit, getting to know him and why he want to work up there and all that fun stuff. I guess he used to work on the board and knows a bunch of people. He told Zack he'd call them that night and put in a good word. I was ecstatic! He also called the District to see if he had all his application stuff in and they said he was good to go that we'd know by friday if they wanted to interview with him again! I was so giddy about it! I"m trying not get excited but...how can you not?! Kind of scary that things are actually happening!! I of course had to tell my mom all about what was happening and shay said that providence was at work, we agree! Zack Said he "suddenly" had the thought to call his supervisor...how cool is that!? So glad I have a husband is in tune enough to recognize divine intervention :) He'll totally done Student teaching in two days! I think I'm more excited than he is!

Shays Saturday
My little 2 year old is wonderful but a bit of a stinker sometimes. Story of the day today: Shaylie wanted a fruit snack (her favorite treat). I told her she had to wait until a little later before I would open it. I was feeding Kade and Shay left the room. I heard little noises coming from the back bed room and kept calling to Shay but she was ignoring me. She finally came out and, proudly showing me her now opened fruit snack said, "I cut it Mom!" She had made a perfect cut across the top of the fruit snack. I was shocked! She was so excited about it and later told Nana, while skyping that she cut it with the purple scissors (her favorite color). Luckily she didn't cut anything else!
The Weekend: Friday
On to Friday! I finally got a picture of my little Kade smiling. He is smiling more and more but stops when I bring out the camera. He's fascinated by it. Shay, Kade and I also went on a nice little walk and I thought they looked so cute all bundled up. Walks are good way to spend the day until Daddy comes home.
The Weekend
I'll start off the weekend on Thursday. Zack was asked to play soccer with some other teachers at Payson High School against the boys soccer team for practice. I got my kiddos ready to go watch him. Funny story about getting ready: I had everything in the car except my people and Shaylie was sitting on the potty taking her sweet time. I called to her and said, "You need to hurry Shay or I'm going to leave you!" Her response made me giggle, "Okay, I'm pushing Mom!" Once we got to the school, we watched Zack play for a little but then he started complaining that his feet hurt. We didn't know how bad until he took his shoes off and we saw the lovely blisters. Guess thats what he gets for thinking he could play in shoes he wore in High School. :) Poor thing!
